ODYSSEY (2012-2014)
Coney Island Performances & Los Angels Stage Performance for TV Show ("Immortalized")
Stage Performance at the Bell House ("Carnivorous Nights: Taxidermy Contest")
"Hero is the one who transformed himself from a normal man to an extraordinary man by defeating five-headed monster in real life. The five head represent Hell, Hunger, Animosity, Anger and the Devil in the Sixth Heaven. Never stop moving forward courageously.", Takeshi Yamada states about this performance. This performance and its prop (monster, dragons, backdrop, and his costume) were originally produced for AMC unscripted television series IMMORTALISED, (season one, episode 3) which was filmed at the production studio in Los Angels, California in 2012, and aired in February - May in 2014. Needless to say, Yamada won this televised taxidermy contest with the secondly highest score of the season (the highest score was also won by him in the episode 3). The second performance was done on the stage of the Carnivorous Nights: Taxidermy Contest at Bell House in Brooklyn, New York on April 6, 2014. (Yamada also won the First Prize and trophy for his rogue taxidermy artwork and stage presentation. HEAVEN AND HELL (2012-2013)
Coney Island Performances & Los Angels Stage Performance for TV Show ("Immortalized")
"Buddha stated Jikkaigogu (Mutual Possession of the Ten World). There is the Heaven in the Hell, and there is the Hell in the Heaven. Also there is the God in the Hell, and the Devil in the Heaven. There are Good Gods, Evil Gods, Good Devils, and Evil Devils. This rogue taxidermy monster is the Good Devil living in the Heaven, which kills evil souls there for keeping the Heaven clean. I want to be blessed by Good Gods and Good Devils when I live my life as it should be lived. But I want to be punished when I do not live my life as it should not be lived.", Takeshi Yamada states about this performance. This performance and its prop (monster, dragons, backdrop, and his costume) were originally produced for AMC unscripted television series IMMORTALISED, (season one, final episode 8) which was filmed at the production studio in Los Angels, California in 2012, and aired in April - May in 2014. Needless to say, Yamada won this televised taxidermy contest with the highest score of the season. (Top Hat, Tuxedo, Black Onyx Bolo Tie, Vest, Mardi Gras Beads, and Mardi Gras Beads Neck & shoulder fashion piece created by Takeshi Yamada.)

DINING OUT WITH THE SEA RABBITS (2006 - Present)

This series is a spin-off of the "Adventures of the Sea Rabbits". Thousands of photographs of the two species of the Sea Rabbits ("Seara" and "Stripes") at the restaurants and other dining establishments were posted on the flickr photo album internet websites. This project inspired Yamada deeply and he started bringing his own dining utensils. In addition, he also started bringing his originally designed chopstick rests, long PU leather dining utensil bag (modified from the short pencil bag), newly crafted his own fishing knife (made from the common dining knife) to those dining establishments later. (See invention page for details.) Selected photos are shown below. Click for seeing bigger images and descriptions.
NOTE: These photographs and descriptions were posted in flickr.com (photoi album website. Adventures of the Sea Rabbit series), yelp.com (restaurant review website. www.takeshiyamada.yelp.com) in addition to the facebook.com, etc. Yamada's restaurant review since August 1, 2017 became popular and he was granted the honor of "Yelp Elite Squad" shortly. Nearly one million people viewed his reviews and photos in the last 90 days period. (as of June 5, 2018)
NOTE:
Yamada treats dining so seriously because
(1) Yamada frequented Doutonbori area commonly called "Kuidaore" ("Knocked Down with Eating Delicious Foods") in Osaka, Japan when he was a young art student. Osakajin (Osaka people) takes foods very seriously.

(2) His brother is a professional chef in Japan. He is very proud of him.
(3) Yamada worked as an Assistant manager of a big Japanese restaurant "Rioyou" by the Rockefeller Center before.
(4) Yamada, when he was teh assistant Managerof the major Japanese restaurant, he even created the special quality control & production system for the sushi chefs there.
(5) Yamada considers the cooking is the highest art form.
(6) Yamada's faith in foods: Foods nourish our body, but, the good foods nourish our soul.
(7) Yamada created his own fish knife by modifying the common dinner fork.
(8) Yamada sharpens teh tips of his forks with his hand-held electric sanding tools.
(9) Yamada takes his dining table setting so serious so that he brings his own eating utensil sets, drinking glasses, and finger bowl when he dine out.
(10) Yamada invented new eating utensils for his technologically completely new dish (Jellyfish pasta) and other dishes.
(11) Yamada photograph each and every meal at his dining out. He also post them with detailed comments in the websites for the public views.
(12) The most comprehensive restaurant website Yamada post is yelp.com. Yamada is one of the most contributing yelper and received the status of "Elite Squad", who are invited to the Elite Squad's invitation only dining events.

HOMAGE TO THE HORSESHOE CRAB  (2001 - 2013)
Yamada started this performance after he picked up a carapace of the Atlantic horseshoe crab (Limulus polyphemus) at the Coney Island Beach by his newly moved residence in Brooklyn, New York in 2002. This animal is considered the reincarnation of samurai warriors, who were the ruling class of the Shogunate (military government of the Shogun) of Japan for over 500 years. (Specifically, the reincarnation of the elite samurai, Hata-no-Takebun, who served and sacrificed his life for completing his duty for the second Prince of the His Majesty Emperor Godaigo.) Today, this animal's blue color blood is the most important substance to test the purity of all the medicines around the world for saving human lives. He started carrying this magnificent creature around everywhere he goes and talked about it. Soon, at the opening receptions of his fine art exhibitions in New York City, he started dancing with the horseshoe crab shells for his paparazzi. It was the part of his "Homage to the Horseshoe Crab" traveling fine art exhibition/art lecture/art performance/art book project.
HOMAGE TO THE HORSESHOE CRAB - SPECIAL PERFORMANCE:
EXORCISM (JOREI, 除霊 and JOHREI, 浄霊) (2002 - 2003)
Yamada with the giant size angry red faced "Samurai Warrior's Ceremonial Reincarnation Mask" attended multiple parades and demonstrations at the Ground Zero in Manhattan, New York on the occasion of people's supporting the United States troops. Nevertheless, he was not there for political reasons nor purposes whatsoever. He was there for undertaking his personal religious ceremonies and rituals -- Johrei (浄霊, literally “purification of the spirit", a type of the exorcism). (1) Yamada visited the Ground Zero as a shaman for his Memorial Prayers for people, who was killed savagely there on the day, September 11, 2001. (2) Yamada was also there as a shaman for the Jorei or Exorcism: warding-off the Evil Eyes and Evil Spirits of the savage terrorists, who are tirelessly trying to kill people of New York City. (3) Yamada was also there as a shaman for the Joure (Purification of the Evil Spits) of the people who was killed with unimaginable pains and sufferings by the mass murder on September 11, 2001. (4) Yamada was also there sending deep prayers for the peace for the people of New York City and beyond for today and tomorrow.
NOTE 1: The Ground Zero was the location, where terrorists crashed two hijacked airplane and crashed into the World Trade Center, resulting killing over 3,000 people in the Financial District in Manhattan, New York on September 11, 2001. (Yamada "saw" this event in 1999 and 2000 repeatedly, and created a series of "prediction" paintings and talked about it at his public art lectures for people in New York. LINK)
NOTE 2: Yamada at the Ground Zero at Manhattan, New York was personally approached by numbers of newspapers regarding his concerns about the issue at the Nine Eleven and War on the Terrorists. One of the newspapers (The Sing Tao Chinese Community newspaper) featured his photograph and interview in their newspaper with great details as shown below in the following day (March 23, 2003).

BLUE BLOOD (1991 - 2003)
"The fine art painters paint on the canvas. Tatoo artist paint on people's skin. Bio-organic artist like myself paint people's internal organs", Yamada says. The Blue Blood created by Takeshi Yamada is a "Bio-organic art". After successfully completing his solo art exhibition at the Louisiana State Museum with his 48 paintings of Mardi Gras in 1990, Yamada started this new interactive art performance at the opening receptions of his fine art exhibitions at art galleries, universities, and even a major medical museum. It is a sequence of multiple art performance; ceremonial production of the blue drink (often Buddhism Sutra such as chapter 2 and 16 of the Lotus Sutra are recited), public display of them, and audience participation of this art performance (by drinking it, coloring their intestine, and taking it home with them), and privately removing them from their digestive system. "In the next day or so, you will also see another big surprise", he adds. The blue blood also symbolizes his family lineage of the most powerful ruling class of the military government of his home country for over 500 years; Samurai. Later, his performance mysteriously led Yamada encounter the legendlly creature with the real blue color blood, believed to be the reincarnation of samurai -  Limulus polyphemus (aka. Atlantic horseshoe crab)- at the Coney Island Beach. The "Blue Blood" is also the title of one of his nearly 100 artworks displayed at his solo art exhibition "Medical Journal of the Artist" at the International Museum of the Surgical Science in Chicago Illinois in 2001. In his "Cabinet of Medical curiosities" (a large glass display case with shelves), the three wine glasses were filled with blue-colored water, and these were surrounded by the actual surgical tools used for Yamada's multiple operations.

KANNON - VISUAL MUSIC  (1999 - 2003)
By using the music composing software of his desktop computer, Takeshi Yamada composed numbers of musical pieces to be enjoyed by his audience at his solo fine art exhibitions. Some of those music pieces are over one hours long and played with over 50 musical instruments. Nevertheless, the most amazing thing is that he even does not listen to his own music in creation in progress until it reach the final tuning stage. "Art is a formula. If it looks good for eyes, then it should good for ears", Yamada says. The word "Kannon" is originally a Buddhism word, which literally means "seeing the sound". This word as a respectable nick name was used for the compassionate people who can "see" the desire of people in sufferings by just hearing their "sound" of voices.
