The most common shape of the Dragon Balls is a sphere. Nevertheless there are a number of variations in their shapes.
About the Dragon Ball (竜玉):
These mysterious semi-translucent spheres called DRagon Balls were made of the countless twisted and deformed glass fragments (bonfire sea glasses and sea glasses). They are believed to be formed inside of the body of the giant sea dragon (giant sea serpent). Their formation's mechanism has not been well reserched. One of the theories is the Dragon Ball to the giant sea dragon is equivalent to the Ambergris to the sperm whale. Another theory is the Dragomn Ball is a type of the gallbladder stone or the kidney stone of the giant sea dragon. The latest theory states the Dragon Ball are the type of the accumulated gut or gizzard stones called gastroliths. (Gastroliths are common digestive aids among amphibians, reptiles, birds, and dinosaurs. their primary function is to help grind food matter.)

Yamada's First Glass Sculpture in 1964
Yamada developed the passion for collecting things of beauty in the nature since he was a little child. He passionately collected many shinny-bodied Jewel beetles, colorful butterflies & moths, colorful stones, shinny broken glasses, strange-shaped rocks & twigs, cast off snake skin, mummified lizards, and etc, at the kindergarten yard and saved them in many plastic containers. Naturally, before the age 5, his bedroom became the "Cabinet of Natural Curiosities" and "Wunderkammer" (before he enter the elementary school) in Osaka, Japan.
At that time, one of Yamada's many personal art projects (mostly sculptures) was making a shinny glass ball by gluing countless tiny broken glass pieces. He created them because he wanted to create a collection of his very own marble balls (he already had a big collection of commercially available colorful marble balls). Yamada's very first series of glass artworks were created around 1964 (he was 4 years old and still in the kindergarten).
This very idea was resurfaced in 2021, when he started creating the Dragon Balls by gluing the bonfire sea glasses, that were collected at the local beaches by his new residence in Brooklyn, New York City.

NOTE: when he became an elementary school student, Yamada started creating his-one-of-a-kind artworks by gluing his collected specimens together. At the 3rd grade, Yamada started created a series of his original rogue taxidermy chimera monsters such as the butterfly winged-beetles. At the 4th grade, he created the two-headed lizard. later, he started creating hundreds of rogue taxidermy monsters. With his fantastic monsters, he won the grand champion of the "Immortalized", the AMC cable television's reality show about the competitive world of the world class taxidermists.

Yamada's Original Invention: Wine Glass Sculpting Bench (2021.04.14 - 04.16)
For creating glass artworks, Yamada originally held his glasswares tightly with his left hand at his art desk all day long and day after day. This caused the numbness of his pinky finger, ring finger, and 3/4 of his hand (Ulnar Nerve Entrapment). It was a horrible medical illness for weekis. Yamada started physical therapy exercises by watching the youtube videos for treating his sufferings. So, he invented a device fort his illness. On April 14, 2021, Yamada created a work bench for positioning the wine glass in the multiple precise positions, so that he does not have to hold the wine glass with his left hand at all.
- The 1st version (2021.04.14) was vertical style. For working at the lower half of the wine glass, it still required the left hand.
- The 2nd version (2021.04.14) was drastically changed, and it became the horizontal style. This made Yamada's left hand free completely.
Nevertheless, for working the area by the rim, the wine glass must be held up. Also, the stem of the wine glass tend to slide left and right. The hand rest also needed more cushion.
- The 3rd version (2021.04.14) was with multiple modifications. (1) Groove for the stem was enlarged. (2) The ring at the stem was added. It enabled the glass to stay at the rigfht position vertically. (3) For teh hand rest, more kitchen paper towel sheets were added.
- The 4th version (2021.04.16) was with more upgradings. (1) The new stem band with wider diameter was added. (2) The single position stem stand was replaced with the new 5 position stem stand for the precision horisontal positioning. (3) The hand rest's kitchen towel cushion was replaced with the mail package's softer and longer cushion. (4) The blue handle of the container was removed.
- The 5th Version (2021.04.17) was with more upgrades. (1) Line Ruler was added on the bottom supporting wire. (2) Blue masking tape was added to the Line Ruler for displaying the focued area to be worked. (3) The stem holder was strengthened with the strips of tapes. (4) Hand Rest's position was adjusted. (5) The positioning band at the stem was taped down.
- The 6th Version (2021.04.18): (1) The static stem rest was replaced by the clothesclips so that the position can be adjusted horizontally and vertically easier. (2) The metal support for the bowl was also slightly raised for making the work easier for the hand.

Yamada's Original Invention: 3-D Rim Divider For Small & Big Round Wine Glass (2021.05.14)
Problem: Yamada used to use a drawn divided circle on the sheet of paper as a ruler for marking the dividing points (1/4, 1/8, 116) for his small and big round wine glass for creating his glass sculptures. Unfortunately this was a time-consuming and not accurate method because the wine glass tend to move around on the sheet of paper.
Solution: Yamada created a three dimensional ruler, which the small and big round wine glass can firmly stationed and easily marked points (1/4, 1/8, 1/16) precisely and instantly each time. (The photograph was removed for protecting the original and special design of this product by Takeshi Yamada.)
