Yamada completed a new seriesw of 11 glass sculptures - Dragon Balls
Yamada's first series of glass sculture for this year was the Dragon Balls. These were created by using the hundreds of bonfire sea glasses and sea glasses, that were collected by Yamada at the shores of Brooklyn, New York City since he moved to this city in 2000. The Asian dragon represents the vitality, glory of life, and divinity of the water of our world (very different from the Western evil dragon). Yamada's Dragon Balls are rooted in the Japanese Ryuujin Shinkou (Dragon God Religion), which is a part of Shintoism (Japan-born and the most popular religion in Japan).
