Yamada started creating artworks in the USA
When Yamada was taking summer classes at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California in 1983. He already started a series of his new oil paintings. Nevertheless, he could not paint on a large canvas. That is because he was already scheduled to fly over this country from the West coast to the East coast to continue his study at the Maryland Institute College of art in Baltimore, Maryland. So, he chose to create miniature paintings on the desk of the dormitory room. In fact, the first series of oil paintings by Yamada in the United States were painted on the large buttons, which he purchased at the local free markets and yard sales.
